Back from Russia, with love!
Jan 31, 2008

We would like to thank everyone in Moscow for coming out to our first concert in Russia. After 11 years on the road, traveling and doing concerts and festivals, it was an amazing and fulfilling experience to get the opportunity to play in Moscow to a packed house at The Svetlanovsky Hall. The audience were absolutely amazing and meeting the people after the concert was a very inspiring experience for all of us. We look forward to returning to Russia and we would especially like to thank The Moscow International Performing Arts Centre. A very special thanks to Eugene!

We would also like to thank everyone at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, Scotland. The band had a wonderful time, and it was great playing at the Old Fruitmarket with Antje Duvekot. Big thanks to Donald Shaw for having us, and also to all the staff and crew for all the work!

A CHRISTMAS CELTIC SOJOURN
with Brian O’Donovan

December 19 & 20, 2007
THE TOWN HALL
123 West 43rd Street

A Christmas Celtic Sojourn, now in its 5th year of sold out houses in Boston, makes its New York debut, with two shows at Town Hall, in mid-town Manhattan.
The concert, called A Christmas Celtic Sojourn with Brian O’Donovan, was first launched in 2003 and reflected the easy, relaxed and diverse offerings of the yearly national radio program and more.
This year’s production will feature the singing of host Brian O’Donovan’s daughter Aoife O’Donovan who has a growing career with neo-trad American band Crooked Still and her trio Sometimes Why. This will bring three O’Donovan family members together as his younger daughter Fionnuala - who has performed in every show to date, and his wife, Lindsay will also be on stage.
Irish super group Solas, led by Seamus Egan, who has taken on the role of Music Director for Christmas Celtic Sojourn, will be on stage and Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean will make a rare New York appearance.
Fiddler Alasdair Fraser and cellist, Natalie Haas, will be there, and Kieran Jordan will be joined by traditional dancers Darrah Carr, Niall O’Leary and Ben Power. Celtic percussionist extraordinaire Paddy League, will also return.
Artistically directed again by Paula Plum, this promises to be one of the most exciting Christmas Celtic Sojourns concerts yet and New York looks forward to a new holiday tradition!

Tickets are on sale now for the December 19th & 20th shows and are available at www.livenation.com, select Ticketmaster outlets and Charge-by-phone at 212.307.7171 or www.ticketmaster.com.

SHOW CANCELLATION
Sept. 29, 2007

We are sorry to announce that we will be unable to appear at this weekend's Bethlehem Celtic Classic Festival. The band's US work visas have not come through in time, and half of the band cannot get into the country to work. We would like to apologize to the festival for this inconvenience and to all our fans who were hoping to see us this weekend. The Celtic Classic is a great festival and we have always looked forward to playing at it. We hope this gets resolved very shortly and look forward to performing again in States. Again, our sincerest apologies and we hope to see you all very soon.

WORK CONTINUES ON NEW SOLAS CD
We spent a fantastic couple of days in Lafayette, La, recording with The Duhks. Both our tour schedules worked that we each had a couple of days off, at the same time, in the same general part of the country. That’s not something that happens all that often, so we made the most of it. Played loads of music and ate loads of crawfish. A big Thanks to Dirk Powell who looked after us in a very fine way. You will have a chance to hear the results of our fun in the near future when the new CD is released. Check back here for more updates.
